Our work is the first to set up a global financial balance sheet. We address core questions at the heart of the global economy. What is the value of the world’s capital? How is it composed? Does it support the living standard of the humankind?
World Balance Sheet has qualities many other financial statistics have not.
Its asset structure is natural. Its asset classes—property, plant, and equipment, intangible assets, inventories, cash and cash equivalents, human capital, and consumption—are derived from theory and thus not arbitrarily chosen. They reflect all production factors of the world. The World Balance Sheet is independent of questions of ownership. It is created across economic systems. Thus, it deals with real economy, not with political economy.
